How to Calculate Plot Size in Pakistan

Whether you are buying a residential plot in Layyah, a commercial space in Multan, or agricultural land in Kot Addu, calculating the exact plot size is the most crucial step. Real estate in Pakistan heavily relies on traditional measurements like Marlas and Kanals. Our Plot Size Calculator eliminates confusion and provides instant, highly accurate conversions to Square Feet, Square Yards, and Square Meters.

Regular vs. Irregular Plots

Regular Plots: These are perfect rectangles or squares. To calculate their area, you simply multiply the Length by the Width. For example, a plot measuring 30 feet in width and 60 feet in length gives an area of 1,800 Square Feet.
Irregular Plots (Tircha Plot): Many plots in Pakistan, especially in older societies or agricultural divisions, do not have perfect 90-degree corners. The traditional Patwari Method takes the average of opposite sides. You add the front and back sides and divide by two, then do the same for the left and right sides. Multiplying these two averages gives the accepted plot area. Our calculator features a dedicated "Irregular Plot" mode to handle this calculation automatically.

Understanding the Marla Standard

  • 272.25 Sq. Ft. Marla: The standard size recognized by revenue departments (Patwarkhana) and mostly used for agricultural lands and semi-urban properties across Punjab.
  • 225 Sq. Ft. Marla: Commonly used in modern urban housing societies, commercial zones, and major metropolitan areas.
  • 250 Sq. Ft. Marla: Used in certain specific regions or older capital development guidelines.
